Valentine’s Day snacks, whether they be for your significant other, your children’s school party, or for yourself, tend to be sweet. And, they may not be the healthiest. Unfortunately, milk chocolate, sugar, and candy do not provide your body with very much nutritional value. But, that shouldn’t stop you from finding Valentine’s Day snacks that do!
Here are 5 healthy Valentine’s Day snacks you can try this year.
Watermelon & Strawberry Kabob
This is a healthy and hydrating snack. You simply cut up watermelon and strawberries, grab some kabob sticks, and put the watermelon and strawberry pieces on the stick! Simple enough, right? You can mix and match, putting one strawberry then one watermelon, or create your own pattern. And, it is quick and easy to do.
Strawberry & Yogurt Bites
One thing that makes this snack fun is that you can make it into shapes. Heart-shaped ice cube trays lets you create these delicious, and nutritious bites. All you need is yogurt and freshly chopped strawberries. Be mindful when choosing the yogurt as some will have higher sugar content. Choosing a Greek yogurt is a good healthy alternative. Simply put yogurt and strawberries into the tray, filling each slot until it is full. Then, place in the freezer and, when they’re ready, enjoy your healthy, frozen heart-shaped snack!
X & O Salad
‘XO’ are the universal symbols of kisses and hugs.So this a very fitting snack for Valentine’s Day. Chop some cucumbers, lettuce, and any other vegetables into a bowl. Cut up cheese in the shape of X’s and O’s and put them into the bowl. You will be left with an X & O salad that is nutritious and healthy.
