You might have tried physical exercise, but have you ever tried to exercise your mind? If the answer is no, then it is time to try. Your mind needs to be challenged in order to keep your brain healthy. You can also boost your intelligence and sharpen your thinking by doing so. You may have better focus and motivation for weight loss too.
Here are some ways you can exercise your mind.
Learn Something New
Whether you try pottery or learn to play the piano, trying something new challenges your mind. It has to learn about new processes, practices, and advancements. Learning new things keeps your brain active as it gets used to the new activity. And, you may find joy in learning something new.
Use Your Non-Dominant Hand
Although this is a simple exercise, it is easier said than done. It is also one of the most interesting ways to keep your brain challenged. You increase your brain activity by challenging it to do the opposite of what it’s used to. Try drawing a picture or writing out your name on a piece of paper with your non-dominant. It is almost guaranteed that you will find it challenging.
Meditate
Meditation involves calming your mind and body. One of the most challenging things to do is allow your mind to be completely blank. Meditation can help you become more self-aware and can improve your observational skills. It also challenges your mind as you learn how to control it more.
Puzzles And Games
Whether you choose to put together a 1000-piece puzzle, or play a game of sudoku, puzzles and games help keep your brain sharp. You increase your mental flexibility and your intelligence.
