Staying motivated during your weight loss journey can be challenging. You have to stay consistent and work hard to reach your goals. You may be eating less to be in a calorie deficit, or pushing your body during workouts. But, the hardest part is actually doing it. And, journalling can help you reach your goals.
Let’s go over how journalling helps you stay motivated.
Track Your Progress
When you write your feelings out everyday, whether good or bad, you get to see your progress. Maybe you had 3 goods days prior to having a bad day. And when you’re having a bad day, you can read how you felt on a good day to brighten your mood and inspire you. After all, what’s more rewarding that seeing yourself truly happy. So, track your progress so you can reflect on how far you have come.
See Trends
Maybe when you are stressed at work you have bad days. Or, maybe at other times, you find that you excel. Noticing trends within yourself can help you see what negatively or positively impacts your body. And once you know these, you can make adjustments to take advantage of them. Make sure to always write the date and time when you journal so you can notice your body’s trends.
Keeps You Accountable
Once you get in the habit of tracking your progress, it can become second nature. In turn, you may find that you are more motivated to go to the gym or eat a healthy meal just so you can write it down. Use your journal as an accountability tactic. This way, your journal can become a fundamental part of your weight loss journey by keeping you motivated.
